Germany Is The Worldcup Winner In Brazil

Produced by Michael Medla & Michael Schulte, from the German radiostation BAYERN 3.

I am a tad late with the World Cup final post, but this did make me giggle!

LEGO: Everything is NOT awesome

Children’s imaginations are an unspoilt wilderness. Help us stop Shell polluting them by telling LEGO to stop selling Shell-branded bricks and kits today.
Greenpeace is calling on LEGO to end its partnership with Shell to Save the Arctic.

Where was this video when I was doing my WPP climate change brief?! Really love the take on (Arctic) pollution, especially as I found general global warming/climate change/environment ads and campaigns incredibly dull, and very ‘samey’. The who kids/toys vibe is so eerie…

Galaxy S 5 – Wall Huggers

That moment when your phone conveniently chooses the most inconvenient time to run low on juice. Switch your Galaxy S 5 to Ultra Power Saving Mode or swap in a fresh spare battery and say goodbye to the wall huggers for good.

I really love this ad! There is a genuine truth to it, and I definitely can relate, as I have a Samsung GS2 and a spare battery. I basically never run out of battery because I can change and charge them whenever I want – something my iPhone friends always find fascinating!

Everyday Football Fouls

Do I care about football? – no.

However, this short film by Fourgrounds Film did make me laugh.

Really interesting exhibition. It was amazing to see the first computers, video game consoles, WWW etc., as I’ve never actually seen them in real life! It was also incredibly nostalgic to play certain games (especially The Sims!) that were groundbreaking at the time.

I really would recommend this to everyone, even if you don’t particularly have an interest in digital design. The exhibition made me really appreciate how amazingly advanced technology and design has evolved in my lifetime alone, let alone since the first PC was made!

Nike Football: Winner Stays

In this game of winner stays, every touch of the ball proves that football will always belong to those who Risk Everything, even when it matters the most.
Featuring: Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar Jr., Wayne Rooney, Zlatan Ibrahimović, Gerard Piqué, Gonzalo Higuaín, Mario Götze, Eden Hazard, Thiago Silva, Andrea Pirlo, David Luiz, Andrés Iniesta, Thibaut Courtois, and Tim Howard.

Usually I have absolutely no interest (probably because I don’t understand…) in football, thus football ads.

Although I think this goes on for a little too long, this is probably my favourite football ad!

(obligatory World Cup post…)

Save the Children: Most Shocking Second a Day Video

A young girl’s life gets turned upside-down in this tragic second a day video. Could this ever happen in the UK? This is what war does to children.

Really strong campaign, especially when you start to realise what the message is about. Another brilliant example of storytelling through advertising.
